This a novel, not a non-fiction book.  I haven't read it yet, but fell in love with the cover art and the rich subliminal intimations of the title.

According to the product description it is written sort of like a docudrama, a comic mixing true facts with myths, urban legends and pure invention.  The worthy topic is a send up of  the evolution of the willful ignorance, stupidity and anti-scientism of the ascendant modern American booboisie.

The price, $22.45 for the paperback, is a bit steep for me.  But the reviewers seem to like it and with a staggeringly brilliant cover like that, how bad could it be?

 If anyone gets a chance to read it, I'd like to hear about it.
